Read the dialogue your way
Translated subtitles follow speech in another language. Closed captions can also describe important sounds. Dubbed audio changes the spoken performance. A title may offer some of these choices without offering all of them.
Match the track to the video
Select the actual film cut or episode first. Subtitle timing prepared for a different version can drift after an added scene or recap. Try another available track before making a large timing adjustment.
Check readability on your real screen
Choose size, contrast and background options if the player includes them. Test bright and dark scenes from your normal viewing position. Comfortable subtitles should not require leaning toward the screen.
Language filters are a different tool
The 1HD language directory groups titles by original production language. It does not promise a particular dubbed track or subtitle language for every viewing offer. Open the edition to check those options.
